The Faroe Maritime Industries Association
The Faroe Maritime Industries Association is a Trade Association catering for those Faroese firms who sell goods and services to companies who operate in the seas around the Faroes as well as in the Arctic. The Faroe Maritime Industries Association seeks to capitalise on the Faroes strategic position at a maritime crossroad in the North Atlantic and the comprehensive range of goods and services available at a competitive rate to generate increased income flows for its members and for the nation as a whole. It is committed to actively seeking out new business opportunities.
The Faroe Oil Industries Association was established in 2001. Only companies can become members. The purpose of the association is “to gather companies, that work within the oil-industry, to carry out matters of joint interest and to work for the members interest.”

With a slip capacity at 2500 tonnes, one dry dock, modern workshops and engineering- and drawing department, the company can provide rebuildings and repairs of vessels up to 120 meters.
Building and maintaining harbor facilities is one of J & K’s specialties and the company has been involved with most harbor deepening projects and major developments undertaken by Faroese ports in the last few decades, so much so that a growing number of contracts has been signed with clients from neighboring countries.
Atlantic Supply Base's main objective is to provide integrated supply base services to Oil Companies engaged in offshore exploration and production in the North Atlantic, especially on the Faroes CS and on the Atlantic Margin.
Faroese Telecom operates an extensive telecommunications network and offers a diverse range of fixed and mobile telecom services to both private and commercial customers. Faroese Telecom also provides undersea cables that link Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Shetland Islands, Orkney Islands, Scotland as well as offshore platforms in the North Sea.

The Port of Tórshavn is the largest and busiest of the many harbours scattered around the faroe Islands. as a thriving port with a truly international outlook, Tórshavn offers an unrivalled concentration of quality maritime services and expertise.
Situated in the midst of the North Atlantic, on the southermost of the Faroe Islands, the Port of Vágur is the nearest port at service to oil-fields west of Shetland as well as to the international fishing fleet active south of the Faroe Islands.
Atlantic Airways is an international company, whose corporate culture is known by its focus on safety, punctuality, the customer and the result. The Sørvágur-based company, which is the Faroese flag carrier airline, currently employs around 172 people. The Atlantic Airways fleet consists of three aircraft and two helicopters. The aircraft provide regular service between the Faroes and a range of cities in Denmark as well as the neighbouring countries England, Scotland, Iceland and Norway. In addition, the company´s activities include leasing of aircrafts of which half the revenue originate outside of the Faroes. The helicopter department provides a regular service to the outer islands, search-and-rescue activities and offshore transport in the North Atlantic.
Smyril Line Cargo is the only freight forwarding company offering a Ro/Ro service on the North Atlantic. The modern Ro/Pax ferry M/S Norröna has a capacity of 130 trailer units and runs between the harbours of Seyðisfjörður, Tórshavn and Hirtshals with a service speed of 21 knots making it the fastest freight service on the North Atlantic.
